How do I book with a pack?
As I mentioned, Getaway provides some free basics and some food that you can purchase. However, if you want fresh (or less expensive) groceries, you’ll have to shop for your own. I like to bring some meat and veggies for grilling, eggs for breakfast, and some snacks, as well as a variety of spices and butter for preparing the food. The concept of Getaway houses (or cabins, really) is to disconnect and become one with nature. Sometimes it can seem impossible to disconnect for even a moment. The reception you have while at the Getaway outpost depends on your cell phone service provider. Overall, I was super impressed with how much Getaway put inside of these tiny cabins, considering the idea is for them to be as minimal as possible. I can say that I did feel safe inside of my cabin, but I was with my sister. Bring things that will help you pass by time but still allow you to be fully present in the experience. Near me, there are lakes and hiking trails that you can drive to. It’s worth checking out the happenings in the surrounding area before you go. Each cabin has a driveway to the side of the Getaway cabin that is big enough to fit two compact cars. We had a bit of a drive to make, so we arrived around 4pm, but I’m sure the cabin probably would not have opened if we had arrived earlier anyways.
